Trinket Box Collection

Since the purchase of my first metal trinket box while on vacation in Michigan, I've been watching eBay auctions looking for similar pieces. So far, I've purchased 4 additional boxes to add to my collection.

From what I can tell, the boxes were made sometime in the 40's or 50's. One of the boxes is stamped with "JB" on the bottom which I've found to stand for Jennings Brothers -- a company that made cast metal boxes from 1891 to 1950.

  1. I used to have one (maybe gave it to Tony) that was German - I'm pretty sure it originally held a fruitcake. I still have a great Art Deco candy tin, painted with a bas relief woman on the lid - pretty wonderful. Matt's fond of these guys, too - they look great, and come in handy for storage, too. :) Keep 'em coming!

  2. There seems to be quite a few of these style boxes on eBay so I have to be careful not to get carried away.

I'm a big fan of Art Nouveau too.
